Marking One Year

This week we mark one year since the world changed. March 10, 2020 was the day the first four cases of COVID were diagnosed in SD. It was also the day of the first COVID death in SD. March 13 a national state of emergency was declared. March 15 we worshiped ‘normally’ as a community of faith inside the walls of OSL for the last time.

One year later, here we are. Over 525,000 people have died in the United States, with over 2.6 million dead around the world. The hopes that the vaccines bring. And the reality that we’re still in this reality of mask-wearing and physical distancing for the foreseeable future. It is difficult to find the words to grapple with the losses and difficulties of the past twelve months.

Illustrated Ministry offered a tool to help us find the words. The link below is a free pdf they have designed with prayers to be read and/or colored. May this gift be a blessing to you as we mark the anniversary of this difficult year.
