Volunteers Needed June 21 & 22 for West River Community Clean Up from the October Blizzard:

With more than 40 sites needing cleanup from the October 4th blizzard, volunteers are needed now more than ever to assist those in need with debris clean up. Volunteers do not need specific skills, just need to lend a willing hand.

VOAD is looking for volunteers to assist on June 21 and June 22 with community cleanup from the October 4th blizzard.

“Volunteers play a crucial part in our community, especially helping disabled and elderly get back to their normal lives,” said Lisa Adler of Lutheran Social Services and President, South Dakota VOAD.

People who would like to volunteer in Pennington, Lawrence, Meade, Custer, Fall River, and Butte are asked to call the Helpline Center at 2-1-1. To volunteer in any other counties not listed, please call the Helpline Center toll free at 1-877-708-4357. Individuals and volunteer teams will be contacted by a volunteer coordinator and assigned projects.

The South Dakota VOAD is a group of voluntary organizations active in disaster relief that supports and facilitates services to those affected by disaster in South Dakota.

Our prayers are with all those that have been affected by these storms.
