Annual Meeting of the Congregation | January 22, 2017

What. Annual Meeting of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Congregation
When. January 22, 2017, Following Worship at approximately 10:30am
Where. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Hermosa, SD

This important gathering of your family of faith offers a time to look back on the past year as well as plan for 2017 and beyond. All OSL worshippers are encouraged to attend. All confirmed and/or adult members of the congregation will have the opportunity to vote on important items. Everyone’s input is valuable. The Annual Report booklets will be available for pick-up on Sunday, January 22nd if you didn’t pick one up last week.

We love to tell (and hear) the story! This is true for 95% of us. We understand stories better. We get excited about and inspired by stories rather than starkly stated facts and numbers. We give of our time, talents and resources more readily and generously because of the stories we hear and the lives that are changed. To honor this, attendees will notice a change in the Annual Report booklets and the Annual meeting itself as we share narratives rather than reports. This will be most noticeable in how the financial mission plan is shared. The facts will still be there but they will be presented in a narrative format which will hopefully be more engaging and more understandable for the majority of those gathered. For those who would like more numbers, a line item financial mission plan will be available upon request and Marvin Bishop, Treasurer is more than happy to sit down with you and answer any specific questions you may have. Questions can also be brought forth at the annual meeting.

Please come with an open mind as these changes are made. The hope is you leave the meeting excited and fired up about the great ministry that is happening and will continue to happen at OSL and out in the community and the world. Pastor Deb is more than willing to visit with you more about this.
