The Season of Lent centers on our Savior’s death on Calvary’s cross for the sins of the world. Associated with His death were the miracles of the Passion including the three hours of darkness. The miraculous darkness began at noon and ended at 3 o’clock. It brought a halt to all the activity.

Today is Ash Wednesday. We stand on the brink of a season designed to prepare us to remember and receive again the great work God did for our salvation. As we prepare, let us rejoice at what God has done in and through Jesus, who leads the believer out of spiritual darkness into God’s light.
